Battery Storage Solutions
Battery storage is what makes solar genuinely effective around the clock. Excess energy generated during the day is stored and used in the evening, overnight or during periods of low generation - dramatically reducing the amount of electricity you need to import from the grid. We supply and install battery storage systems for both domestic and commercial properties, sized to work with your solar installation and your usage pattern. Wall-mounted units like the ones visible in our project gallery take up minimal space and can be installed in most garages or utility areas.
Smart Export Guarantee (SEG)
Any solar energy your system generates that you don't use and don't store can be exported to the national grid under the Smart Export Guarantee (SEG). Energy suppliers are legally required to offer an SEG tariff, meaning you receive a payment per unit exported. MCS certification - which all Portcullis installations carry - is a requirement for claiming SEG payments. We'll advise on the best tariffs available at the time of your installation.
Solar & EV Charging — A Natural Combination
If you own or are considering an electric vehicle, pairing solar panels with a home EV charging point is one of the most cost-effective upgrades you can make. Smart chargers can be set to prioritise charging from your generated solar energy automatically - reducing the running cost of your vehicle significantly. We install both solar systems and EV chargers, so the whole setup can be designed and installed by the same team.
Energy Monitoring & Optimisation
We install energy monitoring systems that allow you to track your solar generation, battery charge levels and energy consumption in real time - typically via a smartphone app. Understanding how your system is performing helps you get the most out of it and identify if anything needs attention. We'll walk you through how to use the monitoring system as part of every installation.
System Maintenance & Repairs
Solar panel systems are low maintenance by design, but periodic checks help ensure they're performing optimally and identify any issues before they affect output. Portcullis provide maintenance and repair services for solar and battery storage systems across Cheshire - whether the system was installed by us or by another contractor. Our compliance team can also carry out any associated electrical testing or certification required.
