Office Desk Power Installation – Gymshark HQ, Solihull

The Project

Gymshark is one of the UK’s best known fitness apparel brands, with a head office that reflects the scale the business has grown to. Their Solihull site is a large, open-plan office fitted out with an industrial aesthetic throughout, from exposed ceiling ductwork and containment to feature signage and greenery dividing the workspace.

Portcullis Power Solutions were brought in to install power to a number of work desks across the office. As part of our wider commercial and industrial electrical work, the brief here was as much about how the installation looked as how it performed. Gymshark’s office already had a distinct visual style, and any new containment needed to sit within that rather than stand out from it.

Keeping the Industrial Look

Rather than boxing everything away, the containment run for the new desk circuits was kept visible and in keeping with the rest of the office. Exposed ceiling ductwork, cable trays and pendant lighting were already part of the space’s identity, so the new power routes were installed to match that theme instead of being hidden behind finished panelling.

This meant working carefully around the existing structure, cable trays and fittings already in place, and coordinating containment runs so they read as part of the design rather than an addition to it.

Testing and sign-off followed the same standards we apply on every job, regardless of scale, in line with our approach to electrical compliance and testing.

A Follow-Up Callout to London

Following the work in Solihull, we were called out to Gymshark’s London presence, covering both their office in Marylebone and their main store on Regent Street. As with the Solihull site, the focus was on delivering electrical work that fitted with the existing spaces rather than a generic installation.

The Result

Gymshark’s Solihull office now has reliable power across the desks that needed it, installed in a way that fits the building’s existing industrial character rather than working against it. The relationship has since extended to their London office and store, giving us the opportunity to bring the same approach to a second, very different setting.

It’s a good example of the kind of commercial electrical work we carry out beyond our usual Cheshire base, for clients who need the work done properly and to fit the space it’s going into.
