About Portcullis Power Solutions

Electricians in Nantwich, Cheshire - Doing the Job Properly Since 2018

We're qualified electricians, not call centres. When you contact Portcullis, you speak to the people actually doing the work.

About Us

Your Trusted Partner for Electrical Work

Portcullis Power Solutions was founded in 2018 by Jason Leigh and Hayden Ford - two qualified electricians from Cheshire who'd seen enough of how the industry operated and decided to do it differently.

The idea was straightforward. Turn up when you say you will. Explain what needs doing in plain English. Charge a fair price. Do the work properly. Leave the place tidy. It sounds obvious, but in a trade where horror stories are common, doing the basics consistently well turns out to be a genuine differentiator.

Seven years on, we've grown from the two of us to a team of eight - covering everything from consumer unit upgrades and full rewires to solar panel installation, battery storage, EV charging points, fire alarms and EICR compliance testing. The team has grown but the approach hasn't changed. Every job gets the same standard of care whether it's a single socket in a family home or a full commercial installation.

We're NAPIT-accredited and CHAS accredited, which means every installation is carried out to current UK wiring regulations and properly certified. It also means you're not just taking our word for it - our standards are independently assessed.

Over 4,000 jobs completed across Cheshire and the North West. We're proud of that number, but we're prouder of the fact that a significant proportion of our work comes from repeat customers and recommendations. In this trade, that's the only metric that really matters.

Meet the Team

We're a team of eight based in Nantwich - electricians, an apprentice, an improver and an admin manager. Between us we cover domestic, commercial, industrial, solar, EV and compliance work across Cheshire and beyond. Here's who you'll be dealing with.

Jason

Director / Electrician

Jason co-founded Portcullis in 2018 and has spent years working across commercial and industrial electrical projects, fire alarm systems and heat pump installations. He's on the tools every day alongside the rest of the team.

Hayden

Director / Electrician

Hayden co-founded Portcullis with Jason and heads up the domestic, solar and industrial side of the business. If you've had a survey or quote from us, there's a good chance it was Hayden who came to see you.

Sam

Electrician

Sam has been with Portcullis since the beginning - a fully qualified electrician and one of the most trusted members of the team. Whether it's a domestic rewire or a large commercial project across Cheshire, Sam gets the job done right, first time.

Bailey

Electrician

Bailey covers a wide range of domestic and commercial electrical work and is particularly experienced in solar, battery storage, heat pump and fire alarm installations. He runs his own jobs and schedules independently and has become a key part of the Portcullis team.

Luke

Electrician

Luke joined Portcullis at 16 and has grown into a fully qualified electrician trusted across domestic and commercial projects throughout the region. Known for the quality and tidiness of his installations, Luke also specialises in solar and fire alarm systems.

Ed

3rd Year Apprentice

Ed is in the final year of his electrical apprenticeship with Portcullis, due to qualify in July. Since joining the Portcullis team in 2025, he's developed into a skilled and reliable electrician in the making.

Mark

Improver

Mark is building his experience across a range of domestic and commercial projects and is a valued part of the day-to-day operation.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We've used Portcullis Power Solutions for over 5 years and they have never once let us down. As a property management agency looking after more than 400 tenants we need contractors we can genuinely rely on and Jason and his team are exactly that.

Day to day they are brilliant but it's during emergencies that they really come into their own. When something goes wrong at a property and a tenant needs help fast, Portcullis are on it. They've helped us enormously in those moments and that means everything in this industry.

Highly recommended.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. *Thank you Portcullis 5 star review*
After many years using electricians for our property business I always thought there was little communication and it felt like I had to be fully involved in the project to ensure that the contractor would do exactly what was required.
Portcullis are definitely different they’re very professional in their approach to every project after the initial consultation they listen carefully and then advise, and seem to just get the job done. Their enthusiasm for your project is so refreshing and the team are very polite and friendly. Bailey and Luke are both really keen and very capable, the managing directors Jason and Hayden are very approachable and positive people who clearly understand the importance of having a good relationship with their customers and their business staff, it really shows through because they’re are all good fun and up for some humour when it’s appropriate. We wish all the best congratulations on a fantastic business.
